Material Preparation

The manufacturing process begins with carefully selected raw materials to ensure the strength, durability, and chemical resistance of the finished tank.

Fiberglass Roving

Continuous fiberglass roving provides the structural reinforcement of the tank. Its high tensile strength helps create a strong and durable composite structure.

Resin System

High-quality polyester, vinyl ester, or epoxy resins are selected according to the intended application. The resin binds the fiberglass layers together while providing additional resistance to moisture, chemicals, and environmental conditions.

Mandrel Preparation

The mandrel serves as the mold around which the fiberglass reinforcement is wound. It is prepared according to the required dimensions and specifications of the tank.

Before production:

  • The mandrel surface is thoroughly cleaned.
  • A suitable release agent is applied.
  • Dimensions and surface condition are checked to ensure accurate production.

Precision Filament Winding

Filament winding is a controlled manufacturing process used to create strong and consistent FRP/GRP tank structures.

Fiberglass rovings are passed through a resin bath to ensure proper impregnation before being wound around the rotating mandrel. The winding machine follows a predetermined pattern and fiber orientation based on the tank’s required strength and application.

Helical Winding

Fibers are wound at controlled angles to provide structural reinforcement and strength along the length of the tank.

Hoop Winding

Fibers are positioned around the circumference of the tank to provide additional resistance against internal pressure and hoop stresses.

A combination of winding patterns and multiple reinforcement layers can be used to achieve the required structural performance.

Controlled Curing

After the winding process is complete, the tank remains on the mandrel while the resin cures and hardens.

Depending on the resin system and production requirements, curing may take place at controlled room temperature or through an accelerated heating process. Proper curing ensures that the fiberglass and resin form a rigid, durable composite structure.

Mandrel Removal

Once the tank has sufficiently cured, it is carefully separated from the mandrel.

Removable or collapsible mandrels are dismantled and extracted from the finished tank. The tank is then prepared for the final finishing stages.

Finishing & Quality Control

After demolding, the tank undergoes finishing and inspection to ensure it meets the required specifications.

This stage may include:

  • Edge trimming and surface finishing
  • Dimensional inspection
  • Wall thickness verification
  • Visual inspection
  • Leak testing
  • Structural integrity checks

Every tank is inspected to identify potential defects and ensure consistent manufacturing quality.

Testing & Final Inspection

Before delivery, tanks undergo appropriate testing based on their intended application and specifications.

Testing may include hydrostatic testing, leak detection, dimensional checks, and other quality assessments to verify structural integrity and performance.

The final inspection confirms that the completed tank is ready for reliable service in water storage, chemical handling, or other industrial applications.
