PRELUDE:

EHU is the state of the art life saving and living shelter in emergent or temporary residence. keeping in view the portability and minimum carriage weight requirements this specified item is developed using modern engineering material i.e., GRP (Glass fiber reinforced plastics) generally called as fiberglass and high strength Aluminum alloy extruded square pipe. This material combination evaluates out to be an excellent solution in such prefabricated structures. Non welded structure and hence easy to be transported and installed at any site and especially without any previous similar expertise. Easy to carry with 02 to 03 persons and without any heavy loading vehicle.

SALIENT FEATURES OF ALUMINUM STRUCTURE:

In contrast to wooden or traditional carbon steel bulky structures, Aluminum square pipe structure is employed in fabrication of the EHU. Some of the key distinguishing features are:

  • Extruded pipe having homogeneous thickness and properties.
  • 25in X 1.25in (18SWG) pipe especially made for such structures keeping in view the strength and weight requirements as per international standards for such structures.
  • Light weight structure almost 3 times less than steels as sp.gr of Al. is 2.7 and that of steels is 7.6.
  • Proper load bearing truces are designed as per the unit or point load on structure at any point.
  • additional braces applied where applicable.
  • Corrosion resistant and longer service life.
  • Comparatively better insulator of heat and electricity.
  • No weld structure and hence easy to install at site.
  • Additionally post extruded heat treatment and anodizing/coloring can also be facilitated.

SALIENT FEATURES OF GRP PANLES STRUCTURE:

GRP is a modern material of replacement of even Stainless steel in some cases. Tensile strength of GRP is almost 1.5 times of Carbon steel. Far better than wood, steels and plastics as wooden structures does not respond to altering environmental conditions, steels have got inherently corrosion problems and lastly plastics have lower heat distortion temperatures in severe atmosphere respectively. Key points of this material selection are;

  • Gloss Finish externally and internally Top coated.
  • Weathering resistant.
  • Ultraviolet (UV) stabilized as inherent.
  • Corrosion resistant.
  • High strength material with even less weight hence high weight to strength ratio than any other available material.

  • Die molded high strength clamps.
  • Easy to handle and install.
  • Light weight and durable.
  • No painting required and are non-corrosive in nature.
  • Readymade clamps with ordered marking on it and hence user friendly.

 

SALIENT FEATURES OF FASTENERS:

  • Galvanized bolts and nuts with double washers.
  • Corrosion resistant.
  • Easily available in markets (If misplaced from somewhere).
  • Rubber washers are used on external panels for corrosion resistance and to tackle leakage.
  • Spanner set or wrench (common tools) needed for fastening at site.

 

SALIENT FEATURES OF MS BASE PLATE WITH PINS:

  • MS base plates (10 Nos.) applied to make the structure intact against wind loads and hilly areas for proper grouting along with pins to be buried on to it.
  • MS used for its high strength and load bearing capacity.
  • These plates will also add strength and restrict free movement of the structure as well.
